Ok, where do I start. Well I guess the beginning would be the best place to begin. I got the idea to blog from the movie Julie & Julia. I just finished watching it, and it was wonderful. I am though still unsure why Julia Childs felt it was disrespectful or something to have Julie Powell blog about her. I think it was pure admiration, and total respect. But, people have the right to feel the way the do. And Julia Childs was and will always remain a legend, and genius, master cook. I have always loved watching her shows on cooking, and her books. And now I love watching the new movie about her and Julie Powell. I guess Mrs. Childs just misunderstood, and meant no hard feelings toward Julie, she was just an elderly woman, who worked hard her entire life, and simply did not understand what Julie Powell was trying to do.
Well, do to total respect for them both, and the desire to become better in the art of pastry making and decorating, I am now starting this blog, loving called, "On the road to KupKake Factory & More". It's named this because my business I am starting is also called, "KupKake Factory & More". I hope to be even somewhat as good as Julia or Julie, but just in pastry making. I hope to even open my own bistro, where people can actually come in and purchase and enjoy eating the pastries on site, while sipping coffee, tea, etc. We will have to wait and see.
And yes, I even plan on inlisting the help of family, and a close friend, (friend's name also is Kathy). We are a small family owned and operated business, mostly of women, but, we do have a few men on staff, ha!lol. I hope everyone that reads my blog will like it, and pass on the word.

ReplyDeleteGood morning to all. Hope you all have been doing alot of Happy Eating. Nothing like comfort food. And the best comfort food is of course pastries. Pastries of all kinds, cupcakes, cakes, pies, cookies, petit fours, and for drink a nice Late', or Cappuchino. Something nice to warm the heart and soul. And for those that are health conscious, ther's whole wheat of various kinds (muffins etc.)
I love providing for my family and friends and all others that share the same love for comfort food.
I guess to tell the truth, I really got my love for baking from my Mamaw Minnie. I remember when I was just a very little girl, watching her bake in the kitchen. She would make the best Strawberry/Rubarb ,and Plain & Lemmon flavored Chess pies you every tasted.
And actually unlike me, my mamaw was good at all kinds of cooking, even fullcourse meals. Her and my papaw showed me and my two older sisters as well as many cousins, how to ring a turkeys neck. Now some of you will kring at that thought, but, now some 40 years later, it still brings back fond memories. Nothing like a good thanksgiving dinner, and can't be perfect without first raising your own Tom Turkey, and then bringing him to lunch, with him as the true guest of honor. Ha! lol.
Well anyway, You will find sometimes I tend to wonder off with my talking ( or in this case typing), but you get my drift. I hope to hear from you all, where ever you are, near or far. I will provide the best comfort food you ever tasted. I have designs, or you can provide your own design, or idea, and I will create it, and then deliver it, either in person/direct, or via U.S.P.S. Mail, or FedEx, or UPS. Customers choice on last 3 forms of delivery.
